Sharon McClure is the founder of Democracy Trailblazers, a youth-focused civic leadership initiative dedicated to equipping high school students with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to become active changemakers in their communities. A proud Alabama native, Sharon was a fellow in the first-ever cohort of Organizing Accelerator, where she gained vital community organizing skills and built a network of mission-driven leaders.  Inspired by her OA experience, Sharon launched Democracy Trailblazers to bring that same spirit of empowerment to young people in Alabama. Under her leadership, the program cultivates civic awareness, fosters student-led action, and creates opportunities for young voices to be heard and respected. Sharon is passionate about developing the next generation of leaders—because she believes they’re not just the future, they’re the now.
